No Reason to Butt Heads Over Goats in Palisades

Re “They’re in a Billy Goat Huff,” Aug. 31: Your article on Linda Schilcher and her goats really got my goat. Here’s a lady who is trying to do some good for fire-prone Pacific Palisades, and she is excoriated by the very people who need her help.
I too am a goat owner, having adopted our goats for the purpose of keeping down brush in Malibu. They do not smell, and their waste is minimal, thanks to being vegetarians.
Since I lived in Marquez Knolls in the Palisades for 10 years, I can pretty much predict that the people who are objecting are city people with too much time on their hands. Give Schilcher a break -- she is trying to help keep you rich folks from losing your McMansions to fire.
