Cisco to Switch BofA to Net-Based Calling

Bank of America Corp. bought 180,000 Internet phones to connect offices in 29 states as it joins companies including Boeing Co. that are switching to Web-based calling to cut costs.
Cisco Systems Inc., the world’s largest maker of computer-networking gear, will supply the handsets that let Bank of America replace desk phones in 5,800 offices and branches, San Jose-based Cisco said.
