Strength in Juniper’s Products Lifts Results

Juniper Networks Inc., a smaller rival of network gear maker Cisco Systems Inc., said first-quarter earnings surged as revenue doubled on broad product strength.

The Sunnyvale, Calif., company said it earned $75.4 million, or 13 cents a share, compared with $33.5 million, or 8 cents, a year earlier. Revenue totaled $449.1 million, compared with $224.1 million.

Excluding items, Juniper posted a profit of 16 cents a share. Analysts had expected revenue of $440.5 million.
