Time Warner, Comcast Fight DirecTV Proposal

Comcast Corp. and Time Warner Inc., which made a joint bid on smaller rival Adelphia Communications Corp. in April, are fighting a proposal by DirecTV Group Inc. that they be banned from signing exclusive contracts for regional sports programs after the transaction.
The Federal Communications Commission “should reject requests that it prohibit” the cable companies “from entering into exclusive arrangements,” Time Warner and Comcast said in a filing with the FCC.
