U.S. Says 6-Party Talks Unlikely This Week

Six-nation talks on North Korea’s nuclear weapons program are not likely to resume this week, a U.S. State Department spokeswoman said, adding that officials in Washington were confident that negotiations would restart soon.
A date for the talks will probably be announced by China after that country’s vice foreign minister visits North Korea this week, the spokeswoman added.
The last round of talks ended in early August.
At the time negotiators indicated they would reconvene in three weeks.
