Officers Find 13 Illegal Immigrants in Van

Officers who stopped to help the driver of a disabled van on Interstate 15 near Hesperia early Thursday discovered 13 illegal immigrants from Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, authorities said.
The passengers were detained by Border Patrol agents in Temecula. The driver and front-seat passenger were resident aliens, the agents said.
The full-size white Ford van was stopped with transmission problems south of Hesperia on the right shoulder of the southbound lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.
