Police Shoot Woman Who Pointed Fake Gun

A mentally disturbed woman who dialed 911 was shot Sunday when she suddenly pointed a replica handgun at responding officers, police said.
Robin Hutching, 43, will be turned over to mental health authorities for evaluation when she recovers from a bullet wound to the thigh, said Los Angeles Police Sgt. Catherine Plows. “She has a long history of mental illness. She will not be arrested.”
