Wild Chase Ends With Shots, Crash and Arrests

Three people were arrested in Las Vegas after a wild chase during which a woman leaned out the window of a car and fired an automatic rifle at pursuing police, authorities said.

There were several bursts of gunfire, and a police car was peppered with bullets, said Officer Jose Montoya, a department spokesman. He said officers did not shoot back. The chase ended when the car stalled at an intersection after a collision with a pickup truck.

“The officers realized they were going to be outgunned, so they backed off to a safe distance,” Montoya said.

No one was wounded and there were no reports of injuries.
