Herbalife Reports Loss in 4th Quarter

Nutritional supplement maker Herbalife Ltd., which went public in December, posted a loss in its fourth quarter as it booked expenses related to its restructuring.
After the market’s close, Los Angeles-based Herbalife reported a net loss of $37.4 million, or 68 cents a share, in the quarter ended Dec. 31, contrasted with a profit of $1.1 million, or 2 cents, a year earlier.
Sales in the quarter rose 13.8% to $341.6 million from $300.1 million a year earlier.
For the full year ended Dec. 31, Herbalife posted a loss of $14.3 million, contrasted with a profit of $36.8 million in 2003.
Herbalife shares fell 10 cents to $16.40 on the NYSE.
