Rebel Smuggler Under Arrest, Army Says

Colombian authorities have captured a Marxist rebel who engineered the smuggling of 300 tons of cocaine, worth about $7.5 billion, the army said.
Ferney Torres, 38, was arrested Saturday after being wounded by soldiers as he tried to escape an army checkpoint in Caqueta state.
“This was a very important capture because he was in charge of the logistics and finances of the southern bloc of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia,” or FARC, Gen. Carlos Fracica said.
