From Times Staff and Wire Reports

The mother of a boy fatally mauled by the family’s pit bulls was charged with child endangerment Thursday by a prosecutor who said the woman knew it was dangerous to leave her son alone with the dogs.

Maureen Faibish, 39, was charged with felony child endangerment resulting in death. She is being held on a $75,000 bond.

Nicholas Faibish, 12, was killed June 3 by one or both of the family dogs. Each dog weighed about 80 pounds. One dog was killed by a police officer shortly after the attack. The other remains in animal control custody.
