Union Seeks to Organize 4th Wal-Mart in Quebec

A union representing Wal-Mart Stores Inc. workers filed an application to organize a fourth Quebec, Canada, store as the group strives to gain more influence with the world’s largest retailer.
United Food and Commercial Workers Canada Local 486 filed the application with Quebec’s Labor Relations Commission to organize about 200 employees at a Wal-Mart store in Gatineau.
Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart has been fighting union organizing efforts in Canada and the United States.
