Azusa Pacific Advances to NAIA Final

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Lance Soderberg and Brice Prather had 17 points apiece to lead Azusa Pacific past Robert Morris (Ill.), 96-88, on Monday night in an NAIA semifinal.
In the title game tonight, the Cougars (29-9) will meet John Brown of Siloam Springs, Ark., which beat Carroll, 73-60, in the other semifinal.
Azusa Pacific led by 15 points early and went up, 68-48, when Prather made two free throws after a technical was called on Robert Morris’ Martell Taylor.
The Eagles (29-5) never got closer than seven.
After Larry English’s two free throws put Azusa Pacific on top, 81-66, Robert Morris abandoned its inside game and began throwing up quick three-point shots on almost every possession.
Spencer Foster had 12 points for Azusa Pacific.
