Mortgage Rates Climb This Week

Rates on 30-year fixed-rate mortgages averaged 5.77% this week, up from 5.75% last week, Freddie Mac reported.
Rates on 15-year fixed-rate mortgages rose to 5.33%, up from 5.31% last week. Rates on one-year adjustable-rate mortgages edged up to 4.23%, compared with 4.22% last week. Rates on five-year hybrid adjustable-rate mortgages rose to 5.21%, up from 5.16% last week.
The nationwide averages for mortgage rates do not include add-on fees known as points. The 30-year mortgage carried a nationwide average fee of 0.5 point; the other three mortgage categories carried an average fee of 0.6 point.
