Brutal Period’s Body Count Rises as 7 Are Found Executed

BAGHDAD — Iraqi soldiers discovered the bodies of seven men, blindfolded and shot in the head, dumped in the Baghdad suburb of Amiriya, a doctor at the Ramadi hospital said.
More than 60 bodies, many with gunshot wounds to the head, have been found across Iraq in recent days.
In Mosul, about 225 miles northwest of the capital, mortar attacks by insurgents killed two Iraqis and injured eight, including seven schoolchildren, police and hospital officials said Wednesday.
And in the impoverished neighborhood of Sadr City in Baghdad, gunmen killed Transport Ministry driver Ali Mutib Sakr, according to police Lt. Col. Shakir Wadi.
