30-Year Mortgage Rate Rises to 6.37%

The nationwide average for 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages rose to 6.37% this week, slightly higher than last week’s 6.36% average, Freddie Mac reported.
Rates on 15-year, fixed-rate mortgages averaged 5.90%, up from 5.89% last week. One-year adjustable-rate mortgages rose to 5.20%, up from 5.12% last week. Rates on five-year hybrid adjustable-rate mortgages averaged 5.86%, up from 5.81%.
The nationwide averages for mortgage rates do not include add-on fees known as points. All categories of mortgages in the Freddie Mac survey carried a nationwide average fee of 0.6 point last week.
