Huizar Top Fundraiser in 14th District Race

Jose Huizar has opened a significant lead in fundraising in his campaign for the 14th District seat on the City Council.
Huizar, a Los Angeles Unified School District board member, had raised $279,289 through Sept. 24, while his most well-known opponent, former Councilman Nick Pacheco, had brought in $144,447, according to the city Ethics Commission.
In the race to fill the council’s 10th District seat, former Assembly Speaker Herb Wesson has raised $294,001. The primary election is Nov. 8.
