Paul DePodesta, do something right for once and hire Orel Hershiser or Kirk Gibson to be the next manager for the Dodgers. Whether they are the best candidates or not, they are the only Dodger heroes of recent memory. This could be the only public relations home run you’ll ever hit as Dodger GM.

Arte Moreno buys the Angels, signs a big-name free agent (Vladimir Guerrero), lowers beer prices and wins the AL West. Yet, because the Halos lose to the White Sox in the ALCS, he considers the season a failure.
Frank McCourt buys the Dodgers, signs a big-name free agent (J.D. Drew), raises parking prices and finishes 71-91. Yet, because the Dodgers finally turn a profit this year, he considers the season a success.
Clearly it is all about perspective ... not a good one for Dodger fans.
