Delta Raises Some Fares; Some Rivals Match Hike

Delta Air Lines Inc. raised its most expensive fares by $46 each way and the major U.S. carriers, except AMR Corp.’s American Airlines, matched the increase.
Delta raised top coach- and first-class fares on most routes, said Terry Trippler, who monitors fares for Cheapseats.com.
Continental Airlines Inc. and UAL Corp.’s United Airlines matched the prices while Northwest Airlines Corp. raised fares by $47 on routes where it competed with Delta and by $28 on other flights, he said.
