From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Supervisors on Tuesday sent back to county planners a controversial proposal to build a Christian-sponsored boys camp on 50 acres in the San Bernardino Mountains.
The planning commission in August rejected a proposed Royal Rangers camp planned to include a conference center, archery and gun ranges and an amphitheater. The group appealed the decision.
The board voted 4 to 1, with Supervisor Paul Biane dissenting, to let the Rangers reduce the size of the project, present it at a community meeting and bring it back to the supervisors.
