Former teen idol Leif Garrett was charged Wednesday with possession of heroin and was held without bail in the county’s Men’s Central Jail.
Garrett, 44, appeared in a downtown courtroom and pleaded not guilty.
He was ordered held without bail pending an appearance Friday in a courtroom that specializes in drug diversion cases.
Garrett was detained Saturday at the Pershing Square subway station by sheriff’s deputies. He is being held without bail because an arrest warrant was issued Dec. 20 for an alleged probation violation in connection with a March 2005 guilty plea to an attempt to buy narcotics.
