Navy Fighter Jet Crashes, Killing Pilot

An F/A-18C Hornet warplane crashed in an uninhabited area north of this Imperial Valley city Wednesday night, killing the pilot, the Navy announced.
The single-seat plane, part of a squadron based at the Naval Air Station in Lemoore, Calif., was on a routine training mission.
