Driver Is Killed as Car Strikes Wall and Tree

A Laguna Niguel man was killed Monday when the sedan he was driving at high speed jumped a curb, ricocheted off a retaining wall and hit a tree, authorities said Tuesday.
Melvi Osvaldo-Arriola Al Faro, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene at the Street of the Golden Lantern, on which he was northbound, and Paseo de Colinas, said Lt. Lloyd Downing, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
No other vehicles were involved in the 11:20 p.m. crash, Downing said.
