Eight years after his solo debut, Sean Lennon is releasing album No. 2.
“Friendly Fire” is due Sept. 26, Capitol Records announced Tuesday. It follows “Into the Sun,” which was released in 1998.
“There was a long period after the first album where I felt disillusioned with the machinery of the industry,” Lennon, 30, said in a statement.
“It’s not that I stopped recording, playing, performing, I did all those things, just more discreetly. ‘Friendly Fire’ is an experiment to see what it might be like to do music more publicly again.”
Lennon produced a short film for each of the album’s tracks, directed by Michele Civetta, featuring appearances by Lindsay Lohan, Bijou Phillips, Asia Argento, Devon Aoki, Carrie Fisher, Jordana Brewster and others.
