2 Boys Die, Father Hurt in House Fire

From the Associated Press

Two brothers died Friday of injuries they suffered in a Lancaster house fire that left their father hospitalized with second-degree burns, authorities said.

The boys, ages 3 and 4, suffered cardiac arrest and smoke inhalation. Firefighters found them in the upper floor of a two-story home in Elizabeth Lake, a suburb 60 miles north of Los Angeles, said Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman Chris Freeman.

The boys were pronounced dead at Antelope Valley Hospital.

Their father was taken to the same hospital in critical condition, Freeman said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
