End the death penalty

Re “High Court Scrutinizing Capital Cases,” June 13
The controversy about lethal injection masks our unease about executing another human being. There is no proper way to take a life -- even of a convicted murderer -- and the fact that we may be taking the life of an innocent person compounds the situation.
Let us join other civilized societies by adopting an alternative to the death penalty.
