‘Cars’: Should we just go along for the ride?

Re “Look ma, no hands!” Opinion, June 16
David Ulin’s wife is right, just enjoy the movie. Concern about who built the infrastructure is going a bit too far to find something to criticize. “Cars” is a fun movie for all ages, a real rarity these days.

Most moviegoers don’t understand that one suspends disbelief in response to a story that is crafted well enough to be plausible. They seem, instead, to fling their disbelief into a trash bin before taking a seat. I’m heartened to learn that Ulin persists in holding movies to a higher standard regardless of his wife’s exasperation with him.
