Carnegie Hall said Friday that it has named its main stage the Ronald O. Perelman Family Stage in recognition of a new $20-million endowment the financier has set up to support education and artistic programs.

Perelman, a Carnegie Hall trustee, made the gift to expand the New York hall’s New American Roots Program for middle school students and to establish an endowment for elementary and secondary school music education.

Perelman is chairman and chief executive officer of MacAndrews & Forbes Holdings, whose diversified companies include Revlon cosmetics.
