Grace? Not Gehry

SCOTT TIMBERG does a commendable job in his coverage of architecture [“Pasadena Goes Modern,” Feb. 26].

I was fascinated, however, by the photograph of Frank Gehry’s model, which dominated the page. I suggest that the Art Center College of Design open their research center’s design to a competition before it is too late. If they refuse to do that, then I suggest that they increase their public liability insurance to the maximum because one misstep on the site of Gehry’s latest nightmare could be life-threatening.

It appears to me that Gehry has outdone himself with this one and if the project is completed, he will hold the world’s record for the highest cost of covering a square meter of space. He might also be up for the “greatest barrier to access” award as well.

IT is said that a fool is born every minute. That must explain why Frank Gehry is allowed to spread his architectural disasters across the land.
