A woman sought in connection with the killing of her Northridge boyfriend turned herself in to police at a Palm Springs hotel Thursday.
Kimberly Carter, 43, was arrested on suspicion of murder in the shooting death of Harry Phillips Jr., 42, whose body was found Tuesday in his apartment in the 11200 block of Garden Grove Avenue, said LAPD spokesman Lt. Paul Vernon.
She called a reporter from the Palm Springs Hotel Spa and Casino after seeing a TV news report detailing police efforts to locate her, Vernon said, and agreed to surrender. Officers recovered a gun from her hotel. Bail will be set at $1 million, he said.
