Radio Anchor Slain by Gunmen at His Home

An anchorman for Mexican radio network EXA was shot to death by gunmen waiting for him in the bushes at his house in Nuevo Laredo, witnesses said.
Ramiro Tellez Contreras also worked for the state emergency services, Tamaulipas state police said. The former policeman, 45, is the city’s 46th homicide victim this year. Authorities say most of the killings stem from a war between drug cartels.
