AFTER Calendar Weekend devoted a whole page to “Goal! The Dream Begins,” I was surprised to see that The Times couldn’t be bothered to send one of its own reviewers to see the movie [“Plays by the Rules, but With a Kick,” by Michael Phillips of the Chicago Tribune, May 12]. Given that this film deals with the experiences and aspirations of so many of the Southland’s youth, why did you feel that it could best be reviewed by a paper in the Midwest?
