For Angel Fans, This Sure Isn’t Heaven

I wish to take a moment to applaud the business savvy of Angels owner Arte Moreno.
First, concerning the name change: I’m sure that after the laughter subsides the extra sponsorship money will start flowing in.
Second, lowering the price of beer was a stroke of brilliance. Now the fans can get drunk and fail to realize that the ticket price has increased this season while the play on the field has decreased to about the triple-A level, due to the inept personnel moves, or lack thereof, of the Moreno/Stoneman brain trust, an obvious payroll-saving move.
Added all together, it looks like pure marketing genius.

Blame for the recent demise of the Angels rests with their general manager, Bill (I Can’t Pull the Trigger) Stoneman, whose fetish for small ball has resulted in the team’s needing to play perfect baseball in order to win. Sorry Bill, you cut the line way too fine. Home runs clean up mistakes.

Why doesn’t Bill Plaschke just get out his Dodger pompoms and write “We won!” 500 times.
It may not be such a bad thing for Angels fans after all, because the last time Plaschke declared ownership of a town (by UCLA), the Trojans took virtual permanent possession of it.
