From Brit-rock to Bruce

The Killers came out of
nowhere to become one of the fastest growing hitmakers in recent memory. The effect of their debut album “Hot Fuss” has barely faded, but the Las Vegas quartet is back with the just-released follow-up, “Sam’s Town,” in which singer Brandon Flowers and company shift gears from Brit-influenced synth-rock into a Bruce-informed heartland sound.
Commercially risky? Artistically rewarding? A lot of questions will be raised and answered during a campaign that kicks off with two tour-opening Los Angeles shows.
