Going HOG Wild

Harley-Davidson got a lot of press a while back when it announced it was changing its stock ticker symbol from HDI to HOG, the latter being the generic slang for a large motorcycle. Cute ticker symbols, of course, are nothing new on Wall Street. Sotheby’s is listed as BID; Anheuser-Busch trades as BUD; Genentech is DNA. It makes you wonder what some famous California institutions would use were they ready to roll out an IPO.
