Indulging, just like a star

Both sides of the ongoing debate about My Favorite Weekend are doubly mistaken [Weekend Feedback, April 12].
First, they assume this is a celebrity’s average weekend or even best weekend spent, when clearly the column asks celebrities to describe what they would do, hypothetically, during an ideal weekend. This is why it’s often overbooked with amazing activities, and the beauty of imagination is that a broke bloke like me can just as easily dream up the same weekend.
Secondly, these readers see celebrity life as out of reach. I’ve read every My Favorite Weekend. Yet even I could enjoy the most indulgent activity after saving up for a week or two.
