60Frames Entertainment, a company created by United Talent Agency and advertising agency Spot Runner, launches today in hopes of capitalizing on the burgeoning online video market.
Led by Chief Executive Brent Weinstein, the Los Angeles company plans to work with established writers, directors and producers to make short-form video that would be distributed on the Web with ads.
Filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen will create content for 60Frames and serve on its creative advisory board.
60Frames has raised $3.5 million in financing from institutional and individual investors, including Tudor Investment Corp. and Pilot Group, which is co-funded by Robert Pittman, a creator of MTV.
