Steven Francis Zegrean, 51, of Las Vegas appeared for an initial court hearing by closed-circuit video from jail. Zegrean stood with a public defender, and spoke only to acknowledge that he understood the charges against him.
He faces five counts of attempted murder, four counts of battery with a deadly weapon, 16 counts of discharging a firearm in an occupied structure and one count each of burglary with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.
