Fans of singer are fans of this writer

ANN POWERS’ “Nothing Compares,” July 1, is probably the best article I have read to describe my eclectic tastes in music. I have never really understood why I love Sinead O’Connor, but I have found that her voice resonates around my head with passion.

She has always been a sword-maiden to me.

I want to thank Ann Powers for her insightful and inspirational piece on Sinead O’Connor and her music. As a longtime fan myself, who at the tender age of 19 heard the first strains of “Troy” and has been hooked ever since, I can honestly say that it’s a breath of fresh air to read journalism such as this.

Sinead is, at best, misunderstood by most; at worst, dismissed. Long may she continue to be the singular talent she is and long may she share this with us.
