Why was garden not included?

IN the article about the Chelsea Flower Show [“British Imports,” July 19], the writer, Nan Sterman, focused on sustainable gardens offering California ideas. I was most interested in why the Fetzer Vineyard show garden was not mentioned.
Even the title -- “The Fetzer Sustainable Winery Garden” -- would have been a clue as to the vision that Kate Frey envisioned for the entry this year.
The garden won a gold award, and to not mention the California entry in an article that aimed to give Californians ideas about sustainability certainly seems lacking.

Editor’s note: Sterman did see the Fetzer garden and considered it for her story, but she did not think it was on par with other sustainable gardens featured in the article.
