70 slain as troops battle militants

Islamic militants and Pakistani troops fought two major battles near the Afghan border, leaving 50 rebels and 20 troops dead, the army said.
Both clashes occurred in North Waziristan, a stronghold of pro-Taliban militants, an army spokesman said.
