Florida 3, at Philadelphia 0: Chris Volstad pitched six sharp innings and combined with four relievers on a four-hitter, leading the Marlins to within 1 1/2 games of the Phillies in the National League East.
Washington 6-6, at Colorado 3-3: Lastings Milledge capped a big day with two more hits and Odalis Perez pitched six strong innings to help the Nationals to a doubleheader sweep. In the first game, Milledge went three for four with two home runs and four runs batted in.
Houston 7, at Cincinnati 4: Hunter Pence hit a three-run homer and Carlos Lee had three hits for the Astros.
at New York 5, San Diego 3: David Wright hit a two-out, two-run homer in the ninth inning after the Mets’ bullpen blew another late lead for Johan Santana.
Atlanta 6, at Arizona 4: Mark Kotsay homered and Charlie Morton threw seven shutout innings for the Braves.
Dodgers 4, at St. Louis 1: Clayton Kershaw won his second game, pitching a career-high seven innings.
