Beef may pose deadly threat

Rochester Meat Co. in Rochester, Minn., has recalled about 188,000 pounds of ground beef patties because of E. coli bacteria concerns.
The recall was issued after five illnesses were reported in Wisconsin and one in California, federal inspectors said. The meat may be contaminated with a strain of bacteria that’s potentially deadly.
