The head of the foundation building the World Trade Center memorial told supporters it’s “essential” that it open by Sept. 11, 2011, the 10th anniversary of the attacks.
Joe Daniels, president of the National Sept. 11 Memorial and Museum, said in a letter that despite a report that the project could not be finished in time, it must be.
“While aggressive, we believe it is both possible and essential that the memorial be open to the public by the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks,” Daniels wrote.
