The sleekly styled, stainless-steel Solaris mailbox by Chiasso soaks up sunlight by day, then uses that solar energy to illuminate house numbers by night. The bold, easy-to-read numerals are automatically backlighted starting at sundown, for as long as eight hours. There’s also an on-off switch for those who want to keep would-be visitors in the dark.
