Can we please, please stop with the “Luke Walton has a high basketball IQ” nonsense?
His nickname should be NetZero because any flash of competence is almost always followed by a turnover or a bonehead play.
His game is defined by a brilliant spin move followed by a six-foot airball.

In Mark Heisler’s NBA rankings [March 9], the Lakers were ranked No. 1. They were six games behind the No. 2 Celtics in the loss column and Boston beat the Lakers both times they played. No. 3 is San Antonio, which has won two of three against the Lakers and was even in the loss column. No. 4 is Detroit, which was ahead by one in the loss column, and they split the season series.
Bottom line, the Lakers were a cumulative seven games behind the three lower-ranked teams and were 2-5 in head-to-head matchups.
