They ain’t saints?

DESPITE Laura Linney’s comment [“A Revolutionary Leading Man,” March 16] on the John Adams coupling that “they were not saints,” I would say that the friendship, love, respect and passion that John and Abigail Adams were able to sustain for one another, despite long separations and hardships, indeed qualify them as near saints.
And since when did anyone in Hollywood have any concept of a “sentimentalized” union, much less a “working marriage”?
