Peanut butter cookie dough sold to raise school funds is recalled

Peanut butter cookie dough sold to raise funds for several Southern California schools is being recalled because it may be tainted with salmonella, state health officials said.
Contaminated peanut butter from a Georgia plant may have been used to make the frozen dough, which was distributed to schools Dec. 8 to Jan. 8 by Sweet Success Fundraising in Ontario. Salmonella can cause fever, diarrhea, vomiting, cramps and even death.
The dough was sold to raise funds for schools in Alhambra, Baldwin Park, Barstow, Huntington Beach, La Puente, Los Angeles, Oxnard, Pasadena, Reseda and South Gate. For information, call Sweet Success at (909) 947-5800.
