Update: The Ducks enter their second set of back-to-back games this season and their third contest on a four-game trip. The team hasn’t lacked for story lines this week. Backup goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere lamented his backup role. Defenseman Scott Niedermayer hinted possible interest in a trade to New Jersey if the Ducks’ playoff fortunes become bleak. General Manager Bob Murray defended Randy Carlyle’s coaching. And Henry Samueli was reinstated by the NHL on Thursday as the Ducks’ owner and governor, despite awaiting a sentence for lying to the Securities and Exchange Commission.
