State prosecutors have no plans to investigate former Assemblyman Michael Duvall (R-Yorba Linda), who was recorded bragging that he had sex with a woman believed to be a lobbyist.
“Even if the publicly reported behavior is proven to be true, it would not constitute a violation of California law,” said Scott Gerber, a spokesman for state Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown.
Meanwhile, five people have filed papers to run for Duvall’s seat: Orange County Supervisor Chris Norby, Linda Ackerman and Richard Faher, all Republicans; John MacMurray, a Democrat; and Green Party candidate Jane Rands.
